Harnessing AI for robust real estate SEO descriptions

As I’m sure you all know, the real estate world is not untouched by the reach of AI - so I wanted to share my experience about leveraging AI to create compelling, yet informative real estate SEO meta descriptions.

We’ve written at length about meta descriptions for real estate SEO, but for today I’m going to focus just on utilizing AI to enhance your workflow.

For those who are relatively new, meta descriptions are succinct, impactful summaries of your webpage’s content.

Put another way, think of them as your webpage’s elevator pitch to both the search engines and your prospective clients.

Although meta descriptions aren’t a ranking factor, they heavily influence click-through rates.

Now, how do we do this:

  1. Context and Examples - AI thrives on context. When crafting your input or “prompt” for the AI to write about, provide more context than you think is necessary. If you’re writing a page about a property for sale, include the property’s location, amenities, unique selling points, neighborhood vibe, etc. I also like to reference the top 3-5 pages on Google as inspiration for the given keyword I’m trying to rank for. This results in a meta description uniquely written for each listing.
  2. Tone - Incredibly, AI can adapt to different tones - whether you want a casual, informal approach, or something more sophisticated and professional, simply include that in your prompt.
  3. Character Limit - Remember that meta descriptions should be between 150-160 characters. If you write too much, your description will be cut off, and too little may lead to a meta description that doesn’t give enough context. Be sure to mention the character limit in your prompt.
  4. Accuracy - AI tools are generally quite good at getting information correct, but certainly not all of the time. Always double check the content that the AI tool provided you.

Using AI in your workflow with writing real estate SEO meta descriptions can help you receive higher organic traffic, higher click-through rates, and more sales - all while saving you time and energy from writing meta descriptions from scratch.

Using AI for Meta Descriptions is SUCH a quick and easy win! Honestly, I really hate writing them (and I tend to get lazy after a while) so having a few quick prompts available to get me what I need is a no-brainer.
